Chiropractic and Scoliosis: by Dr. Nathan Servey, your Victoria, MN Chiropractor

Updated: Mar 30, 2021

The very word "scoliosis" sounds scary, however that doesn't need to be the case. Scoliosis is defined as a lateral (side-to-side) curve of the spine of more than 10 degrees (curves under 10 degrees are called... well, curves). Our spine is the most biomechanically efficient when there are no lateral curves present. In this position, the weight of the body is balanced and spread more evenly throughout the cartilaginous discs and spinal joints, muscle-tone is more balanced, and nerve function is generally less inhibited.

There are different types and causes of scoliosis, however routine chiropractic care should be considered for all of them. That is because regardless of how your spine is shaped, EVERYONE has a spine AND nervous system which needs to be kept healthy!

If you or someone you know has scoliosis, encourage them to schedule a consultation with one of our doctors to learn how we can help.

To learn how chiropractic care can help you, schedule an appointment by calling 952-443-9000.
