A New Perspective on Health: Our 2019 Community Challenge

Updated: Mar 30, 2021

It’s that time of year again. The new year is the perfect time to create resolutions and goals for the upcoming year. But simply writing words on paper without some sort of a change in behavior will always lead to failure. Not sticking with New Year resolutions has become so common and cliché that some people have given up on the idea all together. Perhaps the problem is that we are trying to change behavior without a change in mindset!

Think about your current perspective on ‘health’. If you are like me, you grew up indoctrinated by medical thinking. I mean, the pharmaceutical industry has spent BILLIONS doing just that. I was taught that there was a “pill for every ill”....

Headache? Take an ibuprofen.

Coughing? Take cough syrup.

Sick? Get some antibiotics.

Upset stomach? ...

Trouble sleeping? ...

I could go on-and-on. Ask yourself honestly, how often do you find yourself thinking about your health (or your kids health) like this? There is a better way!

At Power of Life, we believe that health comes from “Above-Down, Inside-Out” That health and healing begins in our brain (which controls our entire body) and is a result of our internal state. Rather than cover-up symptoms with drugs or injections, we believe in supporting our body’s internal natural healing systems. We believe when our bodies are well-supported and functioning well that we can truly express health and live the life we were meant to. In our clinic, we support your body through neurologically-based chiropractic care and nutrition response testing.

Neurologically-based chiropractic supports your nervous system which includes your brain, spinal cord, and all the nerve pathways in your body. Your nervous system is responsible for transporting all the information in your body, both going-into and coming-from the brain. Nerve irritation along the spine can result in problems with this communication causing pain, dysfunction, and poor health. Our specific, scientific adjustments help relieve irritation on these nerves leading to better function and less pain.

Nutrition Response Testing (NRT) uses applied kinesiology to look for nutrient deficiencies and environmental sensitivities that may be leading to symptoms or poor health. We then create a customized nutritional program using whole-food supplements to address underlying nutritional deficiencies and better support your body’s internal mechanisms.

Our 2019 challenge for the Victoria community is to change how you think about health. Our bodies are amazing and can do powerful things with the proper support! We can help.
